WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP

Everything you need to know about permanent treatments:

Intradermal micropigmentation is a cutting-edge method for applying cosmetics permanently. A high-quality, single-use, disposable device is used throughout the procedure to apply semipermanent colours into the skin. These pigments are applied to the Brows, Eyeline and Lips to provide a natural, feminine appearance in neutral colours or a more dramatic, stronger look if required.

Each treatment I do is never the same and is as individual as each and every one of my lovely clients. Everyone has different facial features, structures, and skin tones, which all influence the treatment in different ways. I will always design a treatment plan that is unique to the individual.

Eyebrow treatments are a perfect example of this; I use a range of techniques, from 3D Brows to Natural Hair strokes, Ombre (powder) to misting and Fluffy Brows, to create the perfect natural brow to suit the client.

Everyone is different when it comes to the end result. I will always create a natural, flattering look for the clients who desire something very subtle; others may want a more pronounced look. You will be able to discuss this thoroughly at your consultation.

Permanent Makeup is a Three Way Process

1) Permanent Makeup Consultation:

The first part of the process is a consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment, but can be done separately online or in person if you prefer.

I will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and your expectations.

I listen, I respond, and I advise.

Once I have an idea of the look you are aiming for, I draw the area you would like treated—brows, eyeliner, or lips—with a makeup pencil, carefully mapping your face to ensure beautifully shaped Permanent Makeup. These can be drawn on and adjusted 50 times if necessary! I will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with how it is going to look.

There is also a large variety of colours to choose from, and I will personally mix up your own unique colour to match your hair, skin tone, personality, and the look you want to achieve.

2) Permanent Makeup Treatment:

Using a specialist facial tattooing machine, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, I gently apply pigment into the skin using very fine needles.

The sensation is similar to an electric toothbrush being held against your skin—you feel the vibrations, but you should not feel much discomfort.

I will always work with you at this stage, giving you breaks if you need them. The process normally takes about 1-2 hours, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements.

Immediately after the treatment, you should expect the area to look 20–30% darker than the colour you chose in consultation. This will start to fade after 3–4 days.

3) Check Up:

A second appointment is needed 6–12 weeks after your first treatment. This is included in the price and usually requires a 30- to 60-minute appointment to add more pigment to the area if needed.

This is because as the area heals, some parts may not "hold" as well as others, and you may have a few patches that need more colour, especially if they have been scratched or gotten too wet during the healing process.

This is completely normal, and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, I advise you to always come back to the clinic for your retouch, even if you think it's finished.

Q&A

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST ?

It depends on the person's genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, and skin type. Permanent makeup created by Louisa often lasts 3 to 5 years, with a top-up every 2 years advised to keep the colour appearing fresh.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Using a digital machine, the procedure is known as permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, or creative micro-pigmentation and involves putting the desired pigment colours beneath the top layer of skin.

WILL IT ENHANCE MY LOOK ?

Definitely!

Permanent makeup will replace your traditional makeup. However, it can be made to emphasise your natural facial features. The line and contour of your lips can be improved, eye contours enhanced and the shape of your eyebrows can be perfectly matched to your face.

DOES IT HURT ?

Everyone has a different tolerance for pain, but Louisa is particularly educated to minimise your suffering throughout the process, and topical numbing creams may be applied.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED

It varies from person to person and depending on the area being treated. To evaluate the form and colour, I usually advise a second treatment six weeks after the first one, although sometimes a third treatment may be necessary.
